Fashion Essentials for a Snazzy Little Boy

Recently, I went through Buddy's closet so that I could decide what he needed for the Autumn/Winter months ahead. It amazes me how quickly he outgrows his clothes. Hardly anything fitted him!
So, my Buddy and I decided to hit the malls and pick out a few more items for his winter wardrobe.
When shopping for him, I tend to choose pieces that can be layered to suit the weather and clothing that I can mix and match to create a variety of different looks.
Today, I thought I'd share some autumn/winter must haves for little boys.

Shirts
A variety of shirts in different colours are a must have for any boys wardrobe! I love a basic white shirt as it can be dressed up or worn casually.

A denim shirt like this one from Earthchild can be used to layer over or under other pieces of clothing.

This one from sticky fudge is gorgeous!

We also picked up this blue and white striped one for him. Such a basic and can be styled in so many ways!

A few others that we love:

Checked, from Country Road

Gray, from witchery

Love the quilted detail on this Earthchild one...

T shirts and Hoodies
Some plain solid coloured long sleeved t shirts are a wardrobe staple for anyone.

I love the quality of the Ralph Lauren ones, purchased recently overseas. Unfortunately, Ralph Lauren is not available in South Africa.

Earthchild has a good selection of colours in their 'Classics' range as well. So, check them out!

Give a stylish edge to everyday outfits with a selection of printed T's and hoodies:

Stripes from Ralph Lauren.

This one is gorgeous and is from Sticky Fudge.

This yellow one from Okaidi is sure to add some sunshine to those grey days...

A few other T's, just to make things exciting...

Pants

Without question, jeans are a wardrobe staple. You can wear them with just about anything! I try to get buddy a variety of skinny, baggy and different coloured ones. We're still on the hunt for a good pair of ripped jeans for him, though... can't seem to find any at the kids stores... If anyone has spotted any please give me a shout!

A few other pairs:

Cargo, camo and leather look for a seriously stylish little boy...

Tracksuits
A popular choice for kids. Perfect for running around the garden or messy play....or just lazy days at home.

A beautiful green one from Earthchild.

Love this one from Country Road

On-trend Camo from Cotton On...

Coats and Jackets

A stylish coat and jacket is an essential! Try to invest in at least one good coat and a couple of jackets every season...

I love a wool coat...always warm and cosy.

A denim jacket is perfect for those days that are a bit warmer.

Puffer vests and jackets are a must have for a cool look.

A leather jacket for a snazzy boy.

A selection of waistcoats are perfect for layering.

Formal wear
When those special occasions roll around I enjoy dressing Buddy in something a bit more formal.

I simply adore Jacadi's traditional French clothing...

Children's Salon always has a lovely range of formal wear.

Shoes

The fundamental first steps in a boys shoe wardrobe are:

1)Hightop sneakers

You can never go wrong with a pair of converse. Available in so many colours.

My Buddy just loves his hunter hightops

2) A pair of boots

Timberlands are classic and age so well.

Dr Martens...so comfy and stylish! (Also, they age very well)

Hunter boots-perfect for running around on those cold wet days. I love the fleece socks as well.

Pyjamas

Although we're not getting a lot of sleep at the moment, snuggly PJ's are a winter must! I try and get Buddy the most comfy pyjamas in the hope that it will help him sleep better...

These Old man pyjamas from Jacadi are totally adorable!

Country Road, I love the quality of their pyjamas.

Cotton On recently relaunched their sleep wear range and its really lovely!

I love this gown from Cotton On, as well. A gown is essential to keep your little one warm on those very chilly nights.

And don't forget a pair of cosy slippers.

Don't you just love these handmade, leather, fleece lined slippers by Arauto Rap?

Or these wool ones by Giesswein?
Both available at Children's Salon

Accessories

To complete any outfit, bow ties and braces are a must have for dapper little boys.

This map print bowtie by Alviero Martini is so different.

A selection of braces.

Sunglasses for a cool look. Buddy can't do without his!

Scarves and snoods for a stylish little boy.

And lastly a selection of hats and gloves to complete any outfit.
